Songkran Festival

You are cordially invited to join the Songkran Festival at Seattle Meditation Center!

Songkran is an annual festival which takes place over three days-April 13-15 during the traditional Thai, Laos and Cambodia New Year. Seattle Meditation Center will celebrate this event on Sunday, April 15th, 2018. We would like everyone come to join this event with us. Please check our schedule below:

Sunday, April 15th, 2018

Morning Session:

9:00 am      Dharmacakra chanting and meditation

10:30 am    Merit dedication ceremony

10:50 am    Food offering ceremony and Necessities offering ceremony,

11:10 am    Alms offering

11:30 am    Lunch

Afternoon session:

12:50 pm     Setting up the robe-offering ceremony, Lining in front of the dining room

1:10 pm       Procession to the main chapel

1:45 pm       Song Kran robe offering ceremony, Sand offering ceremony

3:00 pm       Pouring water over Buddha statue, Grand Master statue,

and for the elders

3:30 pm       Thai traditional festival – Sand Cetiya building

4:10 pm       End of ceremonies
